We've all been there: One minute you're scrolling through your favorite online store, throwing caution to the wind as you add this palette and that eyeliner and these lipsticks to your cart, dreaming of being able to just buy it all. Sighing wistfully, you click the "save for later" button and get on with your day (until, you know, a coupon code lands in your inbox). Unless, well, you're Alex Dello. The 15-year-old self-proclaimed "makeup fiend" from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was shopping on Sephora.com last week when she accidentally charged $733 to her mom's credit card. Ouch. Apparently, Dello was trying to check the balance on an old gift card when she clicked "checkout," not realizing that the gift card was empty. Because her mom's credit card was already on file with the retailer and that was all she had to do to complete the one-step purchasing process, she got an order confirmation. Whoops. When she realized what she'd done, she did what we'd all do and panicked. She even talked to Sephora's customer service to see if they could cancel the order, but since it's technically her mom's account and not her…well, no dice. Then, like a true member of the iGeneration, Dello took to social media to explain her faux pas in a video. She is all of us when she says, "Every girl in the world who's a makeup hoarder has just their Sephora basket filled with things they don't necessarily need…so yeah, I have a Sephora basket filled with things that I want—$733 dollars worth!" Who hasn't fantasized about being able to purchase everything on our wishlist? And for Dello, this story has a happy ending: She texted her mom to tell her she'd accidentally charged the card, and according to Buzzfeed, her super-understanding mama told Dello that the purchase would be her Christmas present. #Goals. Watch Dello's video Tweet here.
