Some hair colors just feel more fall than others. Take pumpkin spice hair for instance, and the delicious flavors it evokes. And now there's chocolate-mauve hair to add to your "Rainbow Hair Inspo" Pinterest board. (What, am I the only one who has one?) It was discovered by PopSugar on Reddit, from user GayLatte, who is New York City hair colorist Hannah Edelman IRL. Edelman owns Brooklyn studio Brush in Hand, and frequently posts her incredible creations to her Instagram account. She's calling one of her newest looks chocolate-mauve hair, which is a really pretty mix of milky brunette shades and pink hues. Can you imagine this shade (above) as a '90s-style pink-brown lipstick? Literal perfection. In an interview with PopSugar, Edelman reveals she actually created the "natural" brown colors by mixing Pravana Vivids dyes together. "The darkest brown started with red, yellow, and green," she said. "Then I added orange and purple and other random shit until I liked what I saw." She came up with five different tints meant to blend with the brown roots her client already had: a dark brown, a warm medium brown, a mauve shade, and two different pink tones. She then took "irregular sections of her hair" and painted them into this balayage look, concentrating the mauve and light pink shades on top. "Even though the color is unnatural, following the light-dark placement that occurs naturally is always a good idea," she said. "I think that's what makes this toe the line of natural and unnatural."See some of Edelman's process below, and follow her Reddit thread as she answers questions about how you can get the look yourself. (Hint: Adding more mauve dye looks amazing on pale skin.)Related:Gray Ombré Is the Next Hair Trend You're Going to Be Obsessed With8 Aging Hair-Color Mistakes—and How to Fix ThemGuy Tang's Metallic Hair Dye: The Inside Scoop
