This story about an abandoned cat named Backpack who finds a home will make you feel all the feels. Our fury friend was found on the streets of Philadelphia and carried in a backpack to the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). Despite all the love and affection Backpack (fitting name, eh?) received at the shelter she was still so terrified that she dug her face into a volunteer's arms to make herself disappear. This poor little kitty was already declawed and clearly belonged in a home, so living on the streets without her nails must have been terrifying for her. After accepting some gentle pets Backpack was comfortable enough to peer into the camera and reveal her swollen bottom lip. “She's too depressed to eat here, so we would like to get her into a foster or adoptive home ASAP so she can feel better! Despite feeling so down, she still gratefully accepts petting and head rubs,” wrote PAWS in Facebook post. Luckily the PAWS team took good care of her and as soon as her picture was shared the foster applications started flowing in. On Thursday Backpack was already in the care of her new foster mother. As you can see in the picture, Backpack looks very happy to have a place to call home again. "So far, so good. She has been here a few minutes and is exploring her room. Next up, something delicious to eat!" wrote her foster mom Michelle. Are you crying yet?
